The Florida version of Campaign ToolBox was first released in January 1996 and was the first program approved for electronic filing by the Florida Division of Elections. Since its initial release, it has been the most widely used program in Florida for filing campaign finance reports with the state.
NOTE: The new Florida reporting specifications will require that all candidates use the following format for the Reporting Entity: Last, First & Middle Name of candidate.
The program always loads in Trial Mode, so there is no password or code required to download and install the program. Registration information is entered into the database during initial program setup.
Campaign ToolBox is updated regularly as reporting requirements change and as new features are added. When you purchase a license to use Campaign ToolBox, all program updates are included at no extra charge, so please be sure to take advantage of that and always have the latest version of the program.
To install Campaign ToolBox:
- Click on the Download link (below)
- When prompted, save the file to your Windows Desktop folder.
- After the file is downloaded, you will see a file name icon on your desktop. Double-click on it to run it. Use the defaults unless you have a very specific reason to do otherwise.
- After installing, run the program and go through Initial Program Setup.
Note: Although it is normally not needed, some customers have reported that problems were fixed by first uninstalling the old version before installing the new one.

Some counties (Polk County, for one) and municipalities may still be using the earlier file format. If you are filing with a county or a municipality and NOT the state, you may need to continue using the earlier version of Campaign ToolBox that uses the fixed-length ASCII file format until they update their system.
